Davon Richardson Death: Obituary, Cause Of Death, Funeral

Davon Richardson, a Sand Springs resident who played basketball for the University of Central Oklahoma, has died unexpectedly. His horrific accident death left friends and family inconsolable.
He was officially declared deceased on Facebook on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in a post that read: “The great ones bring us so much joy. One of the best athletes and kindest people to ever don the Black & Gold was Davon Richardson.
The accident’s full circumstances have not been made public. Everyone paying honour to, remembering, and extending condolences to him.
“My heart goes out to Davon Richardson’s family. This is beyond heartbreaking; you were such an amazing person with the kindest soul. I have no words; I wish our conversations would’ve been longer. I’ll always be grateful that I got to meet you. Prayers for his family. Fly high, Davon!”
He was selected for All-State after graduating from Sand Springs High School. He was also a contender for player of the year and was chosen for the Tulsa World’s All-World team.
He participated in all 24 games as a freshman at UCO, starting seven in the 2020–2021 academic year. He averaged 2.3 rebounds per game and 6.4 points in scoring per game.
He played for 17.8 minutes on average each game, making 43.4 per cent of his field goals and 81.0 per cent of his free throws.
He was a second-year freshman prepared to improve on his Central experience thus far. He can make things happen when he has the ball in his hands on the offensive end of the court, and he is a tough player to get around on the defensive end.
He can quickly drive to the basket and shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. He was a young man who was loved by his family, friends, coach, and teammates because of his bravery and commitment to his job.
It was nearly always a pleasure to be with him, and he was a great role model for other basketball players to follow.
