William’s death was caused by unknown reasons, which are not disclosed. The funeral’s specifics might be revealed later. On social media, everyone’s friends and family are expressing their sorrow and loss for him.

The world lost a great man last night. Jerry Williams and I have known one other for nearly 45 years. We went to school with him, worked with him, and he was the entertainment at our wedding reception in 1979! I thought Jerry was a musical genius, one of the great talents of our time. I remember showing up to recording sessions with Jerry madly scribbling out charts on top of the piano that was just conceived moments before and recorded minutes later. Jerry was a master of literally any genre of music and was a source of inspiration for everyone around him.

But Jerry was more than just a great musician; he was a deep thinker capable of carrying on an intelligent conversation about almost any subject. He was a great human being that genuinely cared about those around him. In recent years, our whole family had the opportunity to work with him on beautiful projects for our company Amphibious Zoo Music. I have had the opportunity to participate in some of the most enjoyable sessions. Jerry was a character, but more importantly, he was a great example of surviving in the music business without losing your integrity. Jerry, keep your groove on as you hammer those exquisite rhythm sections into shape; the Thornton family and Amphibious Zoo send their love and best wishes to Jerry’s family.

Aside from his work, he was a lovely, humble, fun-loving man who was always willing to assist those who seemed to be in need. He is a master at what he does, which is why he has succeeded in his field.
