Vangelis was a Greek musician, producer, and composer who hailed from Agria, Hellenic State, which is present-day Agria, Greece. Vangelis was called Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassíou at birth and he took up the name “Vangelis” due to his profession.

Vangelis was born in Agria, Greece, on March 29, 1943, and died in Paris, France, on May 17, 2022, at the age of 79 years. Vangelis had a lovely brother called Nikos Papathanassiou and his father is called Ulysses Papathanassiou.

Vangelis released and composed a number of songs and some of them include Conquest of Paradise, Ask the Mountains, Blade Runner Blues, L’enfant, Chariots of Fire, Love Theme, Twenty-Eighth Parallel, Tears in Rain, Memories of Green, and others.

Vangelis bagged a number of awards and some of them include one Max Steiner Award, many World Music Awards, an AHI Hellenic Heritage Achievement Award, and others.

Vangelis holds honorary degrees from the University of Thessaly and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
